46. Montag burned Beatty’s body because Beatty was needling at him and he took the earpiece away from him.

55. There isn’t incriminating evidence found when Granger and other like minded people are stopped by authorities because they don’t carry books with them, it is all stored in the mind.

56. Yes, I have sense that there are other book chapters in other towns because Granger spoke of other people who have many book chapters in other towns.

57. Granger meant that Montag, him and other people like them aren’t important because they are only remembers or knowledge carriers of the past and they aren’t that important.

58. The last implication of events is that they were all alive, they are the book tellers now, Mildred was dead, the town was gone, and the war had started and ended.

Pages 135-142

“Of Course! Why hadn’t they done it before! Why, in all the years, hadn’t this game been tried! The only running man alone in the night city, the only man proving his legs! , page 138”

I think that it is weird that Montag thinks that it is a game. It ways I guess it does resemble a game. But it isn’t a fun game. He is running away trying to leave the city. And if that were me I wouldn’t think it was a game. I would be scared out of my mind if that happened.

“Millie, he thought. All this country here. Listen to it! Nothing and nothing. So much silence, Millie, I wonder how’d you take it? Would you shout, Shut up, shut up! Millie, Millie. And he sad, page 142.”

I see that Montag still loves Mildred. I don’t see why she rated out her husband like that. It makes me wonder if she feels guilty or worry what is going to happen to him. To me is she really loved him, she would’ve gone with Montag. They could’ve run away together. But she didn’t understand at all I guess.

Pages 143-150

“Once, long ago, Clarisse had walked here, where he was walking now, page145.”

I thought that Montag would’ve forgotten about Clarisse. But apparently she will always be there with him. She is the one who changed him and made him optimistic. I think its sort of deejay-vu that he thought she had been there before. They were running away from the same thing though. Trying to get away from the society, tying to change the way things are.

“On the screen, man turned a corner. The Mechanical Hound rushed forward into the viewer, suddenly. The helicopter lights shot down a dozen brilliant pillars that built a cage all about the man.

A voice cried, ‘There’s Montag! The search is done’, page 148-149.”

I feel so bad for the guy the media used as Montag. He doesn’t deserve to die that way. But it makes me think that the media in that society is stupid. They make it all dramatic and movie like. They never consider the people they are using.

Pages 151-158

“‘It’s strange, I don’t miss her, its strange I don’t feel much of anything,’ said Montag. ‘Even is she dies, I realized a moment ago, I don’t think I’ll feel sad. It isn’t right. Something must be wrong with me’, page 155.”

I think that it sucks for Mildred that she doesn’t know her husband right now doesn’t care much for her. Montag is thinking of her but not the way I thought he would. Mildred deserves it though because she turned her husband in. And you wouldn’t expect family members to do that to their own family.

That is totally right. He worked hard for the city and he didn’t get anything. He betrayed them but he did so much for 10 or 12 years. His own wife didn’t give him anything. I feel sorry for Montag. It must suck to feel that way.

Pages 159-165

“And while none of it will be me when it goes in, after a while it’ll all gather together inside and it’ll be me, page 162.”

By Montag changing his perspective is a good thing. He is less tense about everything now that he knows. It has done him really good. He is accepting the change. And it’s working for him. Sooner or later Montag and the other men could teach or own the city. And show them what they know about the actual past.

“There was a silly damn bird called a phoenix back before Christ, every few hundred years he built a pyre and burnt himself up, page 163.”

This part makes me think of the Harry Potter movies. But the men and Montag are doing what the phoenix is. They are reborn in a way. And it’s a good thing. They get to start over. It is sort of all brand new and people will be more open minded I think.
